We are pleased to announce the introduction of two new components to our range: a new sealed battery box designed to be used with the readily available CR123 type battery and a new improved low power Solenoid.

New CR123 Battery Box
Product Code: RB06/01/40

The RB06/01/40 battery box is constructed of extremely corrosive resistant high phos. electroless nickel plated brass and tested to high pressures (21bar) both internally and externally. The box is O ring sealed so that the battery cells are no longer in the breathing loop. The locking system is very positive with independent screw-down knurled caps with coin-slots for tightening.

One significant advantage of the new box is that it is designed to hold a more readily available battery type – 4 x CR123 3 volt lithium batteries instead of the 2 x CRP2 batteries currently used. The design change was made in response to reports that the previous battery type – the CRP2 – is becoming difficult to source in some countries and particularly in remote locations. The CR123 is currently easily obtainable worldwide.

The RB06/01/40 battery box will be fitted as standard to all new units from the release date. It is available for retro-fitting to existing units but must be potted at the factory. This factory-fit also includes a free upgrade of the mixing chamber and the sensor holder to the current versions.

New Solenoid

The RB06/01/12B Solenoid is a new and improved unit that combines some of the advantages of both of the previous two versions. Like the original valve, the barrel and coil are serviceable by the end user and like the immediately previous version it is a low power valve. In addition, the new Solenoid has improved corrosion protection.

The low power consumption results in extended battery life.

Corrosion protection is provided by new encapsulation processes. The wires are potted into both the Solenoid (as shown above) and the controller electronics (not shown) to protect against moisture ingress.

The RB06/01/12B Solenoid will be fitted as standard to all new units from the release date. It is also available for retro-fitting to existing units but must be factory fitted because of the potting process.
