BE A BETTER DIVER Learn invaluable skills to improve your diving

Scuba Diving, like most things, is a skill set that requires work and practice to perfect.  At Aquatic Adventures we are fortunate to have a staff who have all worked very hard to build their skill base, and a major part of that has been undertaking training in areas that are essential to mastering scuba diving in our local waters, and which open dive possibilities the world over once they have been mastered.

As a PADI dive centre, we offer a wide range of Specialty Diver courses, across many different areas of interest, however the following specialties encompass skills we have found are invaluable to becoming a quality diver in our local Temperate waters:

  • Peak Performance BuoyancyExcellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled scuba divers. They glide effortlessly, use less air and hover almost as if by thought. You can achieve this too!
  • Underwater NavigatorBe the scuba diver everyone wants to follow because you know where you are and where you’re going. The PADI Underwater Navigator course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to use your compass more accurately underwater.
  • Night DiverAlthough you’ve been scuba diving at a site many times before, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The scene changes as day creatures retire and nocturnal organisms emerge, and your skills improve as you learn to better manage your spatial awareness and natural navigation skills.
  • Boat Diver: Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. The PADI Boat Diver course will expand your knowledge about boats from small inflatables to large liveaboards, gaining insight into boat diving procedures and etiquette, as well as boating safety, including how to locate safety equipment.
  • Drift Diver: The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you scuba dive and use ocean currents to glide along.  Especially relevant in Victoria, where currents are an everyday consideration whilst diving, this course helps to build confidence in using the ocean to your advantage.
