Nationally Recognised Training

At Aquatic Adventures we are a 3rd-Party-Provider of Nationally Recognised Training & courses for PADI's RTO.

​

The excellent educational validity of PADI courses means that they can and have been adapted to fit Vocational Education & Training guidelines. Statements of Attainment can be issued for all the courses registered in scope with ASQA, and these can not only be used to fulfill workplace requirements, but may also be credited towards higher education certificated and diplomas.

Scuba Diving VET courses
 

Please note: these courses are run alongside our standard PADI programs (unless otherwise stated).  The additional cost to add one of these units of competency to the relevant PADI scuba diving course is $100/unit.  This covers the additional processing and administration costs, as well as the cost for the Statement of Attainment.  To add a unit of competency, please Contact Us directly to discuss, as only certain staff members are qualified to deliver these units, so not all dates will be able to accommodate.

Scuba Dive in open water to a maximum of 18m

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and perform SCUBA dives in open water to a maximum depth of 18 metres. This unit also focuses on the use and maintenance of SCUBA dive equipment and the performance of SCUBA dive rescues.

​

Scuba Dive from a boat

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to prepare for and complete SCUBA dives using techniques that are specific to diving from boats. The unit only covers the skills and knowledge directly related to diving from boats and not those required to operate or navigate the boat..

Scuba Dive at Night

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to prepare for and complete SCUBA dives using techniques and equipment that are specific to diving at night.

Navigate prescribed routes underwater

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to utilise a range of techniques to navigate underwater during any type of SCUBA diving activity.

Complete underwater search & recovery dives

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use a systematic and methodical approach to finding and retrieving lost submerged objects up to 45 kilograms during or after recreational dives. This unit is not intended for use by commercial recovery divers.

Inspect & fill Scuba cylinders

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to visually inspect and fill SCUBA cylinders. This unit applies to current or aspiring SCUBA dive guides or instructors who are responsible for the maintenance of SCUBA cylinders. This may include those working for private dive schools or companies operating at coastal sites or through holiday resorts.

​

The Inspect & Fill SCUBA Cylinders unit of competency is run independently of other courses.

$150/person.

Perform diver rescues

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to both lead and complete diver rescues using a range of dive specific techniques. It requires the ability to fully assess the situation, determine a response and complete rescues using methods and equipment appropriate for the situation. It also covers the administration of in-water rescue breathing and oxygen.

​

Scuba dive using Enriched Air Nitrox

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and complete recreational SCUBA dives using Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx). It also requires the ability to assemble and disassemble equipment and to complete basic maintenance at the water’s edge.

​

At Aquatic Adventures we can run the SISOSCB008 unit of competency alongside our Enriched Air Diver course.

SCUBA dive to depths between 18 and 40 metres

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and complete deep recreational SCUBA dives to a maximum depth of 40 metres using equipment, diving and risk management techniques specific to deep diving.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to lead and supervise or instruct dependent participants during SCUBA diving activities according to predetermined activity plans which might be self-developed or developed by others. It covers the skills required to adjust activities according to prevailing conditions and participant capabilities.

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to lead and supervise or instruct dependent participants during specialised or advanced SCUBA diving activities according to predetermined activity plans which might be self-developed or developed by others. It covers the skills required to adjust activities according to prevailing conditions and participant capabilities.

Snorkelling VET courses

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to snorkel as part of a group in confined or open water. It requires the ability to use a snorkel while surface swimming and diving underwater.

Lead Snorkelling Activities*

​

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to lead and supervise dependent participants during snorkelling activities according to predetermined activity plans which might be self-developed or developed by others. It covers the skills required to adjust activities according to prevailing conditions and participant capabilities. 

*The SISOSNK002 unit of competency replaces the previous units (SISOSNK302A - Guide Snorkelling & SISOSNK403A - Instruct Snorkelling skills), merging their performance requirements to produce a more educationally valid qualification.

Course in Basic Oxygen Administration for First Aid

​

Students of the Course in Basic Oxygen Administration for First Aid will be able to recognise and respond to emergency situations that require the application of oxygen therapy or oxygen resuscitation, as appropriate, until the arrival of medical assistance.

HLTAID010

Provide Basic Life Support

​

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

​

This unit of competency also includes HLTAID009

​

At Aquatic Adventures we can run the HLTAID010 unit of competency alongside our EFR: Primary & Secondary care course.

HLTAID009

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

​

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines indicate that a CPR qualification should be renewed every 12 months.

 

At Aquatic Adventures we can run the HLTAID009 unit of competency alongside our EFR: CPR & AED use course.

HLTAID011

Provide first aid

 

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. First Aid qualification should be renewed every 3 years.

This unit of competency also includes HLTAID009 + HLTAID010

WHAT IS THE PADI RTO?

PADI Asia Pacific Pty Ltd is a  Registered Training Organisation (# 6729) that complies with the Australian Standards for RTOs and is registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) – Australia’s national regulator – to deliver Vocational Education & Training (VET) qualifications. This allows PADI RTO to issue Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) certificates, called Statements of Attainment..  

 

PADI RTO Trainers provide comprehensive, learner-centered and instructionally valid vocational training in Australia. To ensure a exceptionally high quality, the training is combined with a proactive quality management system.
